The Driven Game Experience – 2 Day Course

We’re hosting The Driven Game Experience bringing you a unique opportunity to spend two full days with two of the South West’s most inspiring Gamesmen, Tim Maddams and Frank Shellard.

This two-day course is all about the complete field to fork experience, beginning with a day at Shellard’s Shoot on a 100-120 driven bird shoot, followed by a day in the kitchen learning how to put game on the menu at home, with all the necessary preparation techniques and some delicious recipes. Lunch is included on both days.

Day One: Driven Game Shooting

The day starts with a warm welcome, a few breakfast bites and a full briefing. Each of the 9 guns will get to shoot on a 100-120 bird driven day, with elevenses out in the field and lunch at the end of the day. Shellard’s Shoot is just over 600 acres, largely centred on a deep, hill-flanked valleys and woodland, and owner Frank always shows challenging birds that will test even the best of shots.

Day Two: Game Butchery & Cookery Day

On day two, game chef extraordinaire Tim Maddams will show you how to make the most of wild game as an ingredient, with a series of cookery tasks and demonstrations. We know that game can be an intimidating ingredient to work with, but Tim will guide you through every step of the process, from preparation and butchery to delicious recipes that make it easy to put game on the menu at home.
