Introduction to Game Shooting
Our Introduction to Game Shooting course aims to give you a full day in the field, experiencing everything game shooting has to offer. Incorporating both a clay pigeon shoot and a couple of game drives, it’s the ideal way for less experienced guns to learn more about the sport.
Skills
• Clay pigeon shooting
• Driven game shooting
• Etiquette, tipping and the countryside code
We’ll meet at the award-winning Shellard’s Shoot just outside Bath for a few breakfast bites to start the day, before a full gun safety briefing by the shooting instructors. It’s then off to the clay ground for a morning’s instruction on clay pigeons before heading back for a light lunch.
After lunch we’ll cover the subjects of driven game shooting, etiquette, tipping and the countryside code and head off for a couple of game drives where you will have the opportunity to shoot pheasant and other wild game birds.
Finally, it’s back to the Farm House for a glass of fizz and a chance to chat through what we have learnt during the day. We very much encourage you to take a few birds home with you for the real field to fork experience – and if you’re intimidated by the prospect of plucking and preparing your own game, then why not check out our Game Butchery and Cookery Days with renowned game chef Tim Maddams? You can also incorporate both courses into one weekend with our Two Day Shooting Experience.
