Marmalade Making Course
There’s nothing quite like hot buttered toast topped with gorgeously tangy marmalade – and if you’ve only ever tasted supermarket versions, you’ll be blown away by the difference between that and the proper homemade stuff. Join us on this Marmalade Making Course with expert Vivien Lloyd, winner of multiple high-profile awards for her marmalade recipes.
• Shredding peel
• Simmering and boiling ingredients
• Selecting the best Seville oranges
• Testing for pectin
• Identifying setting point
• Selecting the best jars for competitions

The day starts with coffee and the opportunity to taste a range of Vivien’s outstanding marmalades. Viv will explain the features of a good marmalade, what really makes the difference between ordinary and award-winning, and demonstrate the all the stages of the process from juicing the fruit to properly potting the marmalade into jars.
You’ll then get stuck into making your own batch of traditional Seville Orange Marmalade, using the best ingredients and Viv’s own award-winning recipe, as well as a delicious marmalade cake, and you’ll be able to take both home. There’ll also be a fantastic lunch and a course booklet to take away full of recipes and tips. Whether you’re keen to enter competitions yourself, or just love the idea of making your own marmalade at home, all marmalade fans will love this course!
