Meanwhile, if you fancy having a go at a new skill, how about our smoking and curing courses? Learn how to create mouth-watering salami, sausages, bacon and more, with no previous experience necessary – we offer half day or full day courses.

We’re committed to encouraging sustainable practises when it comes to food and drink, so our courses are ideal for anyone who wants to shop, cook and eat more mindfully. Join us for a game butchery day, for example, to learn all about how adding wild British game to your diet supports a sustainable, high-welfare industry, or try our pig butchery days to learn more about raising your own meat – we keep our own pigs at Vale House and we love being in control of the entire journey that brings pork to our table.

Our hugely-popular Introduction to Bread-Making will intrigue anyone who never misses an episode of Bake-Off, whilst sourdough addicts simply must attend our Two-Day Bread Masterclass to learn how to make their own loaves for the ultimate smashed avo on toast.
